Description:
This is not a new bug – but is the same as #25872 which has been closed (I entered a comment to the bug a few weeks ago to see if it could be re-opened and nothing has happened).

If McAfee is installed on a system we can not use mysqldump. The work around suggested was to get McAfee to disable certain directories.

This may work for small companies; however some of our clients are large multi-nationals, which do not like to disable their virus protection system, especially on a directory like c:\Windows\temp.

I am sure there must be a lot of other applications which write to the temp directory without causing an error. Hence, what is mysqldump doing? Can a workaround be found which does not involve disabling the virus protection?

Without a viable solution we will be forced to move to another DBMS.

Please see original bug #25872 to see how to repeat.

Thank you for the report.

There is known McAfee bug described at https://knowledge.mcafee.com/article/615/3887379_f.SAL_Public.html Please check if you have latest VirusScan Enterprise 8.5i cumulative Patch installed and if not, install it and check if problem still exists.
