Thank you for a problem report. Note that we have max_prepared_stmt_count server variables since 5.0.21 (http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/news-5-0-21.html)... In any case, this looks like a duplicate of http://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=24757.
