Description:
By mistale I started dl'ing teh WB source package instead of the .msi installer. I found out after unzipping wiht the built in Windows unzipper.

I could not immediately delete the folder from the desktop (download location). Permission denied. I was able to delete all the content of folder but not the folder itself. It was quite tricky to change privileges to the folder so deleting was possible. I had to define me ('Peter') as owner and deselect that privleges from upper level of file system should be inherited.

This may be related to either or both of those
* new conceept of 'administrator' user introduced with Vista
* the fact the the download position was the Desktop

I am the only user on the system and thus the one that was defined as administrator when the OS was intalled. Note that I *did* have privilges to change privileges to the file!

How to repeat:
see above!

Suggested fix:
the unzipped arhcive should be deletable by user who downloaded!

"you need permission to perform this action" (from Danish)

With hindsight:

I probably could also have deleted with 'rmdir' command from cmd.exe if started with "run as administrator" option.

But non-administrative users does not have that option adn cannot change the privilege settings for the folder either!

I couldn't repeat on my Vista Ultimate 64-bit with source package 5.0.27. Could you please try if still the issue happens on your side?. Thanks in advance.

I am not able to unzip it with Windows Vista built-in unzipper. Windows explorer crashes repeatedly. After more then 10 attempts I gave up.

However a was able to unzip with Filzip (www.filzip.com) and both the non-extracted and the extracted archive deleted without problems.

Peter,

That sounds like a vista-UI-trouble ... we don't see any connection to WB in that case.

It looks like the vista unzipper messed something up, or got stuck which might have caused the denial of the system to delete the folder.

Here is the statement from our development about your delete problem:

imho the problem he could not delete was some unzip-thread hung and therefore windows refused to delete some stuff "in use" ... happens to me too every once in a while ... on all sorts of files/folders

The unzip stuff is strange but we can't repeat it.

Also you pasted two bugs into one bug report here. I will close this bug report because this deleting bug seems to be a Vista problem.

When you have further trouble with the unzip stuff, then please fill out a new bug report.
