Description:
support-files/mysql.server LINE #327
Line to run bin/mysqld_safe is missing the --user modifier

If use_mysql_safe flag is set to 1 users will most likely experience issues with this.

How to repeat:
run ./path/to/mysql/support-files/mysql.server start

Suggested fix:
add modifier --user=$user

OLD LINE: $bindir/mysqld_safe --datadir=$datadir --pid-file=$server_pid_file $other_args >/dev/null 2>&1 &

NEW LINE: $bindir/mysqld_safe --user=$user --datadir=$datadir --pid-file=$server_pid_file $other_args >/dev/null 2>&1 &

Thank you for the report.

Verified as described.

Option "user" seems was working only for deprecated MySQL Instance Manager
