Description:
If the agent has a problem connecting to the monitored database, no error is given on the dashboard. It is only noted in the logs. Would be nice if there was at least something telling the user there was a problem and to see the logs - if not displaying the actual error that occurred.

How to repeat:
not applicable

When the mysql instance is not reachable, you are informed in the UI (in the "heat chart", the server tree on every page, plus an event on the Events page) and optionally via SNMP and SMTP.

(They will work again when #38722 is fixed.)
