Hi, I got it from http://forge.mysql.com/wiki/OnlineBackup Please note: - v. 04 has the same bug (can't start the server for the same reason) - today I noticed a wrong link on that page and I fixed it (see http://forge.mysql.com/w/index.php?title=OnlineBackup&curid=1448&diff=9296&oldid=9250)

Which package do you download exactly? A workaround is: ./bin/mysql_install_db that will initialise a data directory for you.
