Description:
Hello,

I obseved a lot of times that:

1) MySQL-traymonitor is not behaving correct after a windows taskbar restart,
occuring after a hanging windows taskbar.
(the traymonitor should reoccur in the tray from the restarted taskbar)
2) Just a feeling, but my verdict is that it is in fact the MySQL-traymonitor,
which hangs the taskbar.

Sincerely,

Louis

How to repeat:

- PC is heavely loaded, mostly due to a heavy DB-activitys
- WindowsTaskbar becomes frozen / does not react at all any more
- when trying to access the taskbar windows is offering to restart the taskbar
- after dowing so, the tray monitor does not show up on the taskbar, but is still running in a wrong way (can also not be restarted any more)

Hi Louis,

I experienced that behavior on my Vista 64-bit box but not just with MySQL System Tray Monitor but with several Windows applications. So I could say this isn't a MySQL bug. Sometimes I need to shutdown my computer to continue using it in a normal way. Thanks in advance.

Hello,

I partly agree, the problem does not only occur with mysql. In fact IMHO it looks like a windows design error.

However, the fact that the traymonitor does not reappear after a taskbar restart, is surely incorrect behavoir.

Thanks.

Miguel,

We know that for some reasons lets say ^busy system^ the tasbbar is frozen.
Vista(64) offers to restart the taskbar.

After the restart, the openwindows and most but not all tray icons reappear in the taskbar.

So the icons in the iconpart of the traybar should reappear, most do, but the mysql traymonitor not. This gives me the verdict that the mysql traymonitor is actually causing the problem.

One thing is for sure it should reappear and it does not.

Sincerely,

Louis

Many thanks for writing a bug report. We are on the way to implement full functionality of MySQL Administrator into MySQL Workbench. We won't add this feature request anymore.
