Description:
read/write of long text values is very slow in v5.1 compared to v3.51.  When tested against MS Access, write times to MySQL server are about 125% longer using 5.1.  Read times penalties from the server are significantly worse where a 5 second read in 3.51 might take 3-4 minutes using 5.1

How to repeat:
Jess B has an access db which is a subset of the full access test suite.
