Description:
I get this error when I try to change my password:
080602 0:54:21 [ERROR] C:\Program Files\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.0\bin\mysqld-nt.exe: unknown option '-û'

How to repeat:
"C:\Program Files\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.0\bin\mysqld-nt" --defaults-file="C:\Program Files\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.0\my.ini" -–init-file=C:\mysql-init.txt

I used this on my cmd.

Thank you for the report.

If I understood correctly you are trying to change password with help of init-file. Please make sure you have -u, but not -û in this file and if you are sure please provide us this file.

Here is what I have. I copied it from the site.

Attachment: mysql-init.txt (text/plain), 91 bytes.
