Description:
mabackup command fails, error message given is "Backup error: Cannot set ANSI quotes" when scheduled, and when run from command line

Manual backup from mysql-admin works correctly

Normal Backup chosen, "Backup Selected Database Completely"

How to repeat:
/usr/bin/mabackup -d <directory> -x <prefix> -c <connection> <profile_name>

Suggested fix:
fix this problem! I have looked at other forum postings and people have been reporting this problem for over a year.

I have the same problem

I am running Kubuntu Hardy (8.04), and ever since updating to this version, get the same error originally reported here:

/usr/bin/mabackup -d /var/lib/mysql -c default backup
Backup error: Cannot set ANSI quotes

The Mysql-server version installed is 5.0.51a-3ubuntu5.2

I too have searched many places and have not found a solution.
