Description:
Viewing Startup Parameters : Log files tab, the Error Logfile Name is set to: /usr/local/mysql/logs/ERROR.log

That coincides with the my.cnf file log-error parameter.

However, when I navigate to the Server Logs : Error Log tab, the file is: /var/log/mysql/mysql.err

Why is the Error Log tab attempting to view this file, which is never defined in my my.cnf? And why do these two tabs show different information?

How to repeat:
Create /etc/my.cnf file with log-error file somewhere other than /var/log/mysql/mysql.err

Run mysql-administrator and view the Server Logs : Error Log tab. Identify the file it is attempting to locate (grayed out).

Suggested fix:
Startup Parameters : Logs files : Error Logfile Name and the file Server Logs : Error Log is looking for should be the same. Startup Parameters : Log files : Error Logfile Name is correct.

First, how is it not supported to be able to view the Error Log through MySQL Administrator?

Second, how can it not be supported to have the Error Log located outside of /var/log?

Third, why is no explanation given for closing changing this but to Unsupported over 1 year after it was Verified?

What makes it unsupported?

The link only describes the degrees of support, but does not identify what software or versions and platforms are supported.

Please describe in what way this software is unsupported.

As you will find in given link only Windows XP is supported here.

Does it at least run on Solaris ? Oh wait..I guess not.

Very disappointed.

p.s. It took 1 year for you to come up with the "not supported" excuse?
