Description:
Despite the support of OpenGL 2.1 by my graphic card, an ATI Radeon X600 Pro, OpenGL is not detected by MySQL Workbench making the rendering very, very slow.

The output of System Info is:
Looking for user plugins in C:\Documents and Settings\ajaussoin\Application Data\MySQL\Workbench\plugins
MySQL Workbench OSS for Windows version 5.0.17
Cairo Version: 1.5.12
Rendering Mode: GDI Rendering
OpenGL Driver Version: Not Detected
OS: Windows XP
CPU: 2x Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz, 2.0 GB RAM
Video adapter info:
Adapter type: ATI Radeon X300/X550/X1050 Series
Chip Type: RADEON X600 PRO (0x5B62)
BIOS String: 113-A62903-103
Video Memory: 262144 KB

I have checked the compatibility of my card to OpenGL 2.1 via the "OpenGL Extensions Viewer 3.0" tool as suggested in the FAQ.

How to repeat:
- My configuration is fairly common, so I expect anyone with an ATI Radeon graphic card under Windows XP 32 to have the same problem...

Suggested fix:
Detect correctly the presence of OpenGL

I forgot to say that some versions ago (before it became RC I think), everything was working fine.

Thank you for a problem report. Please, try to repeat with a newer version, 5.0.19 GA, and inform about the results.

The problem is still occurring with the new version, OpenGL is still not detected:

MySQL Workbench OSS for Windows version 5.0.19
Cairo Version: 1.5.12
Rendering Mode: GDI Rendering
OpenGL Driver Version: Not Detected
OS: Windows XP
CPU: 2x Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz, 2.0 GB RAM
Video adapter info:
Adapter type: ATI Radeon X300/X550/X1050 Series
Chip Type: RADEON X600 PRO (0x5B62)
BIOS String: 113-A62903-103
Video Memory: 262144 KB

It seems the GDI rendering is a bit quicker with that new version though.

Good luck ;-)

sorry, but we had to disable openGL support for 5.0 because we had stability issues with the used libs.
it will be re-introduced in 5.1.
