Description:
Actually, we are seeing some issues regarding the MySQL services
installed as Windows Services. What we have observed is after the
power outage, in service manager windows, the status for mysql
services is blank, although we are able to perform all mysql related
operations. If we try to start it manually, an error comes up saying
something like ‘Could not start mysql services: unexpected error”. We
have tried to find out the root cause by looking into the log file,
but there is no clue. It is an intermittent behavior.

How to repeat:
It is an intermittent behavior so we are not having exact reproducton steps.

Thank you for a problem report. What exact version, 4.1.x, do you use? What OS version it runs on?
[26 Mar 2008 6:29] varun goyal
it's 4.0.23-pro

4.0.x is not supported any more, so even if you found a new bug it will not be fixed in this version. Upgrade to 4.1.x at least, or, better, to 5.0.x.

Now, as you use -pro version, you are either OEM or just got it from other vendor as a part of their product. Please, open support issue either with MySQL, if you are OEM customer, or with your software vendor. Bugs database is not a proper place to ask for urgent support anyway.
