One way to redirect the bin-log to another directory is to add a full path to the "log-bin=" parameter in the INI file. However, the real issue IMHO is to redirect it to another machine! In Windows/File-Sharing for Microsoft Networks there is a big impediment, see my post on the MySQL "Backup" forum: http://forums.mysql.com/read.php?28,292455,292455#msg-292455 I don't see a solution except to make MySQL stream the binlog data through a TCP pipe to a receiving process on the remote machine. This process will then save it to a local file. Other solutions are most welcome! Meir
