I'd like to add my support for this request, I know its not going to be easy for you but I would like to see more control over the display of relationships. On key benefit of diagramming is that it is a tool for explaining complex schema, it is frustrating to have to spend a long time fiddling with layout in order to make relationships clear. This isn't so much of a problem when you are using the tool, but as soon as you export a diagram or print it you loose the interactivity so you need to fine tune the layout first.

I agree this would be a fantastically useful feature. Half of the reason one uses a tool like this is to display the data visually, therefore more flexibility should exist when editing the display. Have a look at the basic arrow connector feature in Omnigraffle Pro 3 - that implements the idea perfectly. I also agree that the foreign keys for each relationship should be highlighted, perhaps circled with ellipses so that in an exported static image, it can clearly be seen which columns are connected to which others.
