Thank you for the report. You indicated version 1.1 in the version info field, but current version of MySQL GUI Tools is 5.0-r12. Please try with new version and if problem still exists click on "i" button of the widget and then "Test connection" and say us result.

Hi, I did download that latest version you mentioned. The file I downloaded was named: mysql-gui-tools-5.0-r12-osx10.4-universal.dmg The 1.1 version refers to the widget alone (inside that package). My database is working fine, but the widget can't see anything. Clicking on that "Test Connection" button behind the widget (after clicking the "i') does absolutely nothing. No error message, no change at all. I just click the "Done" button and then it flips the widget back to the front and the display is still blank. On the back of the widget, I have localhost:3306 , root and the password is empty (which is the default set up and I can still log into root without a password through the mysql monitor command line so I know it works). Please let me know how to get this widget working. It could be useful. Thanks.

Some additional info on this problem, I was in the Console app today and I noticed that after starting up the Dashboard, I get a few errors from the MySQL widget. Here's the info from my Console: Mac OS X Version 10.4.11 (Build 8S165) 2008-02-10 00:42:21.051 DashboardClient[228] *** -[NSBundle load]: Error loading code /Users/wendre/Library/Widgets/MySQLHealth.wdgt/MySQLMonitor.widgetplugin/Contents/MacOS/MySQLMonitor for bundle /Users/wendre/Library/Widgets/MySQLHealth.wdgt/MySQLMonitor.widgetplugin, error code 2 (link edit error code 0, error number 0 ()) (event handler):Can't find variable: MySQLMonitor 2008-02-10 00:42:28.202 DashboardClient[228] (com.mysql.widget.health) file:///Users/wendre/Library/Widgets/MySQLHealth.wdgt/MySQLHealth.js: Can't find variable: MySQLMonitor (line: 603) (event handler):Can't find variable: MySQLMonitor

Please, try to repeat with a newer version, 5.0-r13, and inform about the results.

Hi, thank you for the update. I just went to the download site and it still only shows 5.0-r12 as a Universal Binary for Mac OS X. There is a 5.0-r13 version for Windows but I'm running a Mac so I can't run the Windows version. Please notify me when the 5.0-r13 version is ported to Mac OS X so I can test it and let you know if it has fixed my problem. Thank you.

Many thanks for writing a bug report. We are on the way to implement full functionality of the old GUI tools into Workbench. Unfortunately you are using an unsupported platform. For more information about supported platforms please look here: http://www.mysql.com/support/supportedplatforms/tools.html

I have mac os x 1.4.11 and I have installed MYSQL version mysql-5.4.2-beta-osx10.4-powerpc.dmg. but the server didn't start using preferences pane and also via command prompt. It keeps on showing the error "'Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2)'". Could you please anyone help on this?
