Description:
If I select multiple objects in order to delete them, and then right click on the selection in order to pop up the context menu to choose delete, the selection is undone (although a single object that happens to be under the mouse will be selected instead)

This is strange behaviour. Normal behaviour would be to preserve the multiple selection and pop up the context menu in order to allow the delete.

Now, the delete can be done only through the keyboard (awkward Ctrl+Del) or through the main menu (requires you to move the mouse pointer possibly to the other end of the screen)

How to repeat:
Make two tables. Drag while holding left mouse button to select both. Right click on selected object, or in the selection. Observer selection being undone.

Suggested fix:
Please do not undo the selection.
