Description:
The installer can not proceed with the installation of the .net connector 5.1.4. It does not crash, just shows a message saying it can not proceed, try later. Deployment of MySQL.Data.dll is possible if it is directly embedded in an application package.

How to repeat:
Try the 5.1.4 installer on a windows 98 computer.

What version of Windows installer do you have installed? Windows 98 doesn't natively come with any version of Windows installer so you need to install that yourself.

Reggie,

The installer version on these machines is 2.0.2600.1

I forgot to mention in my initial post that the installation package for the 1.0.7 .net connector worked flawlessly.

Thanks for the follow-up

I am sorry Eric but I have no means of testing this for you... I haven't seen W98 in years... Setting this to verified without proper testing so Reggie can decide on how to proceed.

Hello,

My Englisch is not that good but i will axplane if you get de error to install you open your machin.config and remove the mysql providers and save the machine.config you will be able to install and de error not happen again.

I hope this is helping the bug fix Greatings

This is an unsupported version now. Plus you should be able to take the no-install package and register the assemblies manually if you really are forced to use Win98.

Please comment if this is unacceptable
