Description:
On openSUSE 10.3 x86-64 mysql-service-agent fails to start after installation:

uragan# /opt/mysql/enterprise/agent2/etc/init.d/mysql-service-agent start
Starting MySQL Enterprise agent service............................................................failed

If agent is invoked directly:
/uragan# /opt/mysql/enterprise/agent/bin/mysql-service-agent -f /opt/mysql/enterprise/agent/etc/mysql-service-agent.ini

it silently dies, but if '-D' option is added, then segfault arises:

uragan# /opt/mysql/enterprise/agent/bin/mysql-service-agent -f /opt/mysql/enterprise/agent/etc/mysql-service-agent.ini -D
Segmentation fault

Some more info about the system:
 openSUSE 10.3 for x86-64 architecture. glibc-2.6.1-18
uragan# uname -a
 Linux uragan 2.6.22.5-31-default #1 SMP 2007/09/21 22:29:00 UTC x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Agent is set up to connect to mysql server on localhost; mysql version:
mysql-5.0.45-22

mysqlmonitor and mysqlserviceagent - 1.2.0.7879 for AMD64 / Intel EM64T, 64-bit

How to repeat:
Target system: openSUSE 10.3 for x86-64 architecture.

Install mysqlmonitor 1.2.0.7879 for "AMD64 / Intel EM64T, 64-bit".

Execute MySQL Enterprise Dashboard.

Install mysqlserviceagent 1.2.0.7879 for "AMD64 / Intel EM64T, 64-bit, glibc 2.3".

Try to run agent; 'failed' resolution will appear.

Invoke agent directly with '-D' option:
/opt/mysql/enterprise/agent/bin/mysql-service-agent -f /opt/mysql/enterprise/agent/etc/mysql-service-agent.ini -D

Is this a duplicate of bug #32277 ?
[10 Dec 2007 8:15] Denis Silakov
Yes, it seems so. At least I can also see the following record in /proc/interrupts:

4345: 4 27184751 PCI-MSI-edge eth0

So it seems to be the reason of this crash.

tested OK: agent 1.3.0.8939 works on openSUSE 10.3 x86-64, see also bug #32277
