Would you like to download and install... .NET framework? Click "Install Now" button and eventually your browser tries to open the URL:

The page cannot be found
The page you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.

How to repeat:
On a PC that does not have .NET installed, click on "MySQLWorkbench.application", then choose the "Install Now" button. Wait.

Suggested fix:
This might be a Microsoft bug, but regardless, the workaround is to use Windows Update to install .NET Framework 2.0

Thank you for a problem report. Please, try to repeat with a newer version, 5.0.10, and inform about the results.

OK. Now .NET 2.0 and 3.0 are both installed. However, startup of Workbench still fails. I'll open a new bug.

By accident, you closed the bug instead of reopen it.

Verified as described.

This is a pure MS problem. The link to the installer is not provided by us but by the application loader on which we do not have any influence.

I originally noted that it might be a MS bug. I probably closed it on purpose when I opened the related bug. Regardless, there needed to be a place tor people to find out what to do next when they encountered the error while attempting to use workbench.
