Description:
I was using MySQLAdministrator v 1.0.1a. I created a backup successfully but was not able to schedule backups as the schedule options were greyed out. So I downloaded this new version from this site. It installed okay. When I run it, I am presented with the Connect to MySQL Server Instance. I entered the username and password that I had been using with the previous version and get the following error:

Could not connect to the specified host.
MySQL error Nr.1115
Unknown character set: 'utf8'

Regards,
Paul.

How to repeat:
Download MySQLAdministrator v1.0.2b from this site and install. Then try to run it.

Thanks for your report. Could you state which server version you are using?

I have the same issue running Win XP. running 4.1.0-alpha-max-nt. I would really like to see what this new version can do.

After several tests it showed that MySQL 4.1.0 has a problem with the UTF8 coding we use as standard for Administrator libraries since 1.0.2b.

Tests with MySQL 4.1.1 and MySQL 5.0.0 have been successfully.

If that is an option for you, could you upgrade to 4.1.1 and see if the problem persits?
