Description:
The world sample database is out of date.

How to repeat:
Download http://www.mysql.com/get/Downloads/Manual/world.sql.gz/from/pick and find some inaccuracies.

Suggested fix:
Oganize regular updating by having couple of persons, who are responsible for their region or country. CVS access or a web interface may be good for doing this.

Hi, thanks for your request.

The world database is obtained from another
source, so we don't control its content. In any case,
its intended only as a source of examples (that is, a
dataset to play with), not as the most up-to-date
authoritative information available.

Where is it from?

Just thought if people are looking at those names and numbers, they may subconsciously remember outdated and/or wrong information.
