Description:
When connecting via the MySQL-Administrator I get the following error on my linux box:
baer:~ # /usr/bin/safe_mysqld: line 273: 12262 Segmentation fault $NOHUP_NICENESS $ledir/$MYSQLD $defaults --basedir=$MY_BASEDIR_VERSION --datadir=$DATADIR $USER_OPTION --pid-file=$pid_file --skip-locking >>$err_log 2>&1

Number of processes running now: 1
mysqld process hanging, pid 12265 - killed
040312 11:24:02 mysqld restarted

On the (Windows-)Client-Administrator-site I get a simple lost connection while query. I then observed the same when doing a simple 'telnet baer 3306'.
The server is started via:
/usr/bin/safe_mysqld --user=mysql --pid-file=/var/lib/mysql/mysqld.pid --socket=/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock --datadir=/var/lib/mysql

How to repeat:
Every time, when connecting via telnet.
