Description:
I'm unable to install MySQL RC 5.1.22 on my MacBook Pro. I have version 10.4.10 of the OS installed. I had previously had problems upgrading to the last beta version. So I tried a clean install. I removed all MySQL items from /Library/Receipts, removed the system preference, and removed mysql's symlink and directory from /usr/local.

I used the pkg installer, which progressed to the point where it asks me to authenticate; but when it begins to install it stops immediately and says "Please try installing again" Unfortunately, I haven't found anything more indicative of what the problem was.

I've noticed a similar complaint in the forum but didn't find any related bug entries for it. I'm sure that this must be specific to some element of the way my system is setup; but I'm not sure where to begin looking.

I'm happy to take directions to help debug the problem.

How to repeat:
Try installing RC 5.1.22-osx10.4-i686 on an intel mac with 10.4.10.

Please do not use 5.1.22-rc dmg packages for now, they contain a serious bug.

Fixed outside the server source tree.
