Description:
A small, easy-to-implement request. My dial-up connection was interrupted several times while trying to download from one of your mirror sites. (Downloading via dial-up connection takes about three hours.) Instead of a single 23MB file, if you packaged the download in four or five 4-5MB files, it would reduce time lost when a connection is broken in mid-download.

How to repeat:
(See description.)

Suggested fix:
Package your download in four or five 4-5MB files instead of a single 23MB file to reduce time lost when a dial-up connection is broken in mid-download.

Microsoft does this with service packs, which tend to be humongous. They let you choose between downloading a single (say) 70MB file, or eight 9MB files individually.

MySQL AB has no plan to add even more package options.
Download managers in Mozilla and/or Internet Explorer
should be able to split up the downloads, i.e. resume
an interrupted download.

There are also third party tools, also for free, that
enable downloading files in chunks when the web server
supports it, like the Mozilla extension
