Description:
GUI OSX Dashboard installer does not show the password in the on-screen config report:

Here are the settings you specified:
Installation directory: /Applications/mysql/enterprise/agent-7653
Monitored MySQL Database:
-------------------------
Hostname or IP address: 127.0.0.1
Hostname to display:
Port: 13306
MySQL username: service_manager
MySQL Enterprise Monitor:
-------------------------
Hostname or IP address: localhost
Port: 18080
Agent username: agent

- - -

Note: it's correct in the on-disk config report:

Here are the settings you specified:
Application hostname and port: http://127.0.0.1:18080
Tomcat Ports: 18080 - 18443 (SSL)
MySQL Port : 13306

Repository Credentials (bundled MySQL):
---------------------------------------
service_manager/merlin

Use the following command to login to the MySQL Enterprise Monitor database:
mysql -uservice_manager -pmerlin -P13306 -h127.0.0.1

How to repeat:
Run GUI Dashboard installer on OSX, observe the config report dump near the end. It should show user & password for repository...

In latest build, the on-screen text box displays no config info at all. It is correct in the text file.

Just to clarify: the first comment posted refers to the agent installation. The password is specifically not shown because we are following the guidelines from case #23673, adapted to the agent (where there is not configuration_report.txt file).

And I think that the second comment posted refers now to the server installation, where the configuration report is not shown, again as a result of case #23673.

Please let us know how to proceed both on agent and server installation, regarding the password issue.

The "partial" report is shown again installing the agent for Merlin version 2.0 ( agent 0.7.0.707)

As we mentioned in a previous post, the fact that the password is not shown is an intentional behavior, derived from our implementation of case #23673.

We would like to have confirmation from you on the validity of #23673, i.e., if it is no longer applicable, so we can expose again the password to the user.
