Description:
The "Expanded Query Area" vertical scrollbar does not work. It appears when a query exceeds the visible rows, but is not usable, nor by clicking the two arrow buttons (up - down), nor by dragging the bar itself.
Note that in the "Normal View", the scrolling bar works fine.

How to repeat:
Launch mysql-query-browser, choose "View -> Extended Query Area" (or press F11), write a long query.

Thank you for a problem report. Please, try to repeat with a newer version, 1.2.12, and inform about the results.

Yes, the problem is repeatable in the new version 1.2.12 too.

I tried with some different Gnome themes, to be sure the problem wasn't only in my preferred theme.

Could you please provide a picture which illustrates the reported behavior?
Thanks in advance.

I took 2 snapshots. The first one was taken in "Normal View" mode, in which the scrollbar works fine (you can see the two black little arrows on the buttons); the second picture is the "Expanded Query Area" mode, in which the two little arrows are grayed out.

...by the way...
In the 1.2.12 version, if you click on "View" menu at start up to change the view, all the 3 radio buttons appear to be selected simultaneously (i.e. "Normal View", "Expanded Query Area" and "Resultset Only" are all selected...). You have to choose "Expanded Query Area" twice in order to effectively change the view mode. The 1.2.5beta version didn't show this little bug.
If you need a picture of this behaviour too, don't hesitate to ask.

Regards,
Riccardo.

Thank you for the feedback.

I can not repeat behaviour described in the original bug report. Please indicate accurate version of the OS you running and how do you enter such a big query. I mean if copy-paste produces bas results or you do it in some other manner.

According to the last comment. This behaviour is another bug, so I created new report for you. Please see and subscribe to bug #31344.

I'm running a Debian unstable, kernel version 2.6.18, Gnome version 2.20.0.
I tested both the Debian-packaged mysql-query-browser and the "Generic x86 Linux TAR (bundled dependencies)" downloaded from dev.mysql.com.

I also tried mysql-query-browser (ver. 1.2.5beta) on an Ubuntu Feisty, kernel version 2.6.20, Gnome version 2.18.1.

I entered the query in all the possible manner (as far as I know):
- typing it directly,
- using copy-paste,
- and dragging one previously entered from History tab.

Let me know if you need more infos.

Riccardo.

Thank you for the feedback.

Verified as described.

Bug is repeatable on Ubuntu, but not repeatable on Fedora. Seems Ubuntu-Debian dpecific problem.
[10 Oct 2007 18:45] Riccardo Rapuzzi
So, do you suggest me to open a bug report in the one of the Ubuntu/Debian forums, or had you already forwarded this one to the most appropriate referring receiver?

Thanks,
Riccardo.

Not. This is our bug. You should not do anything.

Description in my last comment is for our GUI Tools developers to give them information how to repeat the problem when they will fix the bug.

Sorry for not clear message.

Hoping it can help, I add another info: in the script tabs the bug doesn't appear.

Regards,
Riccardo.

Many thanks for writing a bug report. We are on the way to implement full functionality of MySQL Query Browser into MySQL Workbench. Unfortunately you are using an unsupported platform. More informations about supported platforms you will find here:
