Hi,

Trying to beta 5.1 driver but couldn't establish a connection in Crystal Reports. Have attached few msgbox's to help debugging of this issue.

CRXIR2, ODBC5.5, MySQL5.048, Vistax86.

How to repeat:
1. Load Crystal Reports
2. Create new report using (ODBC connection)

RESULT: Few different message box's show up

Hi Jared,

the error is "wrong database name".

Are you really sure, that you configure the right database name?
What is the name of the database you configured?

Please, can you send us the task file too.

Regards,

Susanne

Hi Susane,

Looks like this issue depends on certain DB, so I have attached that and you will need to do following to repeat:

1. Install `sampledb`
2. Configure MySQL\ODBC 5.1 to use `sampledb`
3. Create new Crystal Report

The .SQL log wasn't comming up with much & I don't know what a 'task' file is.

Hi Jared,

in your DSN configuration you can configure that you want to get a task file too. This is a kind of log file. Usually this is written to your disk.

I still don't see the 'Task File' option, are you able to screendump what you are talking about? 3.51 or 5.0?

Sorry, I meant trace not task.

Ok, I've read the manual and done some tracing through windows, but still have no clue why ODBC is failing OR returning rubbish for tables names. Please see my .LOG file uploaded.
