Description:
I'm trying to install MySQL on my PC and when I hit the 'Exceute' button on the MySQL Server Instance Configuration screen it runs through 'Prepare configuration' and 'Write configuration file' OK but gives a red 'X' in the Start service button followed by the error message:

'Could not start the service MySQL.'

the first time i installed it, it actually worked fine, but i got the server settings wrong so i uninstalled it and reinstalled it not knowing you could just remove the instance. when i reinstalled it this is the error i got.

How to repeat:
i can repeat this by starting the server instance config wizard again, go the last step and hit execute button.

Go to your data install directory and look for a file with extension .err
usually host_name.err and then zip and attach it here. Thanks in advance.

Thank you for taking the time to write to us, but this is not a bug. Please double-check the documentation available at http://dev.mysql.com/doc/ and the instructions on

Error log contains information about misconfiguration of InnoDB startup options. Correct them and you will be available to start the server. See also http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/innodb-parameters.html and http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/innodb-configuration.html
