Description:
My SQL ODBC Driver 3.51.17 crashes in Microsoft Access 2003 within Microsoft Windows Vista.

How to repeat:
I created an ODBC source within mySQL ODBC 3.51.17 ok. Then I wento consume it in both MSAccess and MSExcel with the same results. Initially the ODBC driver said that it couldn't find the database with the name provided (though definitely there using other tools.)
Then I retyped the database name into the ODBC Connect window and clicked OK. The Microsoft Access application then locks up and crashes. I attempted to change the MSJET40.DLL back to 4.0.8618.0 as per an article on your site. This didnt work. I then installed the mysql-connector-odbc-5.00.11-beta-gpl-win32 driver. This worked. I can now connect to the MySQL database using ODBC.

Suggested fix:
Install mysql-connector-odbc-5.00.11-beta-gpl-win32 driver.

Hi Cameron,

Thank you for writing a bug report.
What is the name of your database?
Do you use specific characters or something like this?
Also we need your configuration to reproduce the bug.

Regards,

Susanne

This is a duplicate of Bug #29888.

Actually, it is more likely to be a duplicate of Bug #9932.
