may be you have a build without NDB. So, any command-line option related to the ndb cluster is unknown. That's why mysql_install_db uses it with --loose prefix, which turns an error into a warning.

Yep, I know. I never build without NDB, so I hadn't ever seen this before. Looks sloppy to have the message there.

It has been so long that I have no idea :) There I think at the time was a complaint because of this being a default somewhere in a startup. I'd close it. We aren't building with NDB any longer so I don't see much issue.
