Oracle-like hierarchical queries would be useful.

Suggested fix:
The following syntax would be great:

SELECT LPAD(' ',2*(LEVEL-1)) AS indent, field1, field2
FROM wonderful_table
START WITH field1='First record!'
CONNECT BY PRIOR record_id=parent_id;

(LEVEL is an Oracle's special coulumn)
