See the title -
in the release builds of 4.1.23, test "lock_multi" caused a timeout
in the "embedded" runs on several platforms:

The only information beyond the pure "timeout" came on QNX:
   mysqltest: At line 34: Error in the thread library

How to repeat:
Found by running the test suite, including "embedded".
