Description:
If I launch MySQL Query Browser, select View/Expanded Query Area from the menu, then, close the program and launch it again, then close and launch a third time, the view has been reset to Normal View. Also, the menu item isn't checked on the second launch.

The value of view_type is being reset from 81 to 0 in mysqlqb_options.xml.

Another minor problem is that you must select Expanded Query Area from the menu twice before it will switch views.

And the width of the sidebar doesn't appear to save. This could be a global problem with preferences not being saved.

If I run it from a console, these are printed, but are probably not related.

(mysql-query-browser-bin:20810): Gtk-WARNING **: Unable to locate theme engine in module_path: "pixmap",

The same occurs for me using version 1.2.12 in an Ubuntu Hardy Heron.

I found a workaround for this:
Open MySQL browser and switch to expanded view (I've had to select it twice to have it, but it finally did).
Close the program using the menu File->Quit (this way it seems to be the one that stores your settings, not closing using the window cross button).
