Could you please try to test your Internet connection using the mysql.exe console client instead of MySQLCC, if you find the same problem then isn't a MySQLCC issue. Sorry for to ask you this but I don't have Internet connection with 56 KB modem for to do an actual test.

I'm afraid I do not have mysql.exe, but all other programs which use the same internet connection have no problem at all.

you probably needs to increase timeouts on ethe server and/or client. http://www.mysql.com/doc/en/SHOW_VARIABLES.html
