Description:
Hello

I am a rook when subject is MySQL

I have tried to connect access 2000 to mysql (world databases) and i got perfect connnection via DSN.

The problem:

I try to make a simple sql (like select * from world) or then a cartesian product (using 2 tables) to test de speed of sql, and access goes very, very slow.
A single table with 4093 record (country table) takes so many time to reach the last record.

I know that anithing is wrong. I tried to set several options at DSN, no results.

Some idea?

How to repeat:
Conect to world db using DSN

Open Access.

Import tables via access

Start a new query on access.

Create s SQl simple instruction and try to exectute it.

If u use a city table (4093 rcords), the time to get results will by very extended, driving memory system to leak sundelly.

Suggested fix:

Thank you for the bug report. Are you using Windows XP?, if yes please
try checking Don't use Set Locale, then remove the linked the tables
and link again the tables.
