Description:
Fresh install of Ubuntu Edgy 6.10 (fully updated)
mySQL 5.0
mySQL gui tools 5.0
Installed admin, sql query, workbench
All tools give this:

admin and sql query both connect fine, as does the mysql command line interface.
Regardless of connection mode chosen, no connection is possible.
Fetching schemata...
Error calling ReverseEngineeringMysql.getSchemata: Can't connect to server. Please check the connection parameters.

The logs indicate no errors have occured.
This has been going on since 1.0.3, and I've noticed many users asking about it for almost a year in the forums. Please either fix this or pull it... It's very frustrating trying to convince your company to purchase something that acts too much like windoze...
Thanks.
How to repeat:
install gui tools in /opt on Ubuntu 6.10
initialize the workbench ...
Suggested fix:
How about using the same connection code that is already working in mysql administrator, since that does work.
