Description:
Hi,

I found an encoding mishmash in these web side: https://shop.mysql.com/
There is a mishmash of utf8 and iso-8859-15 or iso-8859-1 between database and web server.

Switching client encoding of the browser don't fix it.

Example:
May 22: Köln
The german "ö" looks weird on the side

It seems, the data are wrong stored at the database or the webserver couldn't change the encoding in the right way.

Regards,

Susanne

How to repeat:
Browser: Firefox 2.0.0.2
OS: FreeBSD 6.2
locale: de_DE.ISO8859-15

Browser client encoding: automatically: unicode (utf8) but switching this to an other encoding wouldn't fix the german "ö".

Suggested fix:
database encoding, character set of the web server, client encoding in php script, character set in HTML, one of these is not UTF8 or the data are stored in the database with the wrong encoding.
