Hello, I did spent a lot of time, trying to work arround this bug. I was *not* sucessfull. I tried a few things which all did not work !! for info: - tried to setup the service using mysqld-nt --install etc ==> did not work unless I put the my.ini in a path without spaces in the name so that I did not have to add sting quotes int the command. However - when doing so the service was created, however could not be started terminated unexpecticly error 1067 This is realy bull shit! Sincerely, Louis

Hello, After configuring the service using the commandline as described earlier, and restarting vista and loging in as an operator, I managed to start MySQL. So, I managed to work arround the problem at last, and it probably has something to do withs vistas right management i.r.m. MySQL. Louis

Please do not submit the same bug more than once. An existing bug report already describes this very problem. Even if you feel that your issue is somewhat different, the resolution is likely to be the same. Because of this, we hope you add your comments to the original bug instead. Thank you for your interest in MySQL. Explanation: Hi Louis. We are aware of this problems as you can see in our bugs database, for example in: http://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=22563, 24731, 24732, 24734, etc. and are working on Vista compatibility for some time now.
