are yoi using our binary ???

Our binary default settings are not as reported.

This could also be a consequence of the error in shell default environmental variables.

I had this same problem on Mandriva recent distribution. I just set a+rx to /root and a+rwx to /root/tmp and then I could get Health and Catalogs to work fine with MySQL Administrator. This was an easier solution (for me) than rejiggering the tmp dir environment variables.
