Description:
InnoDB can use O_DIRECT for its data files.
Users ask for this to also be possible for InnoDB and binary log files.
This for instance when using a NetApp filer, it would dramatically improve performance.

Naturally, it should be an option, as it would not be optimal in all scenarios.
