Description:
Using Visio 2003 and myODBC 3.51, I am able to successfully connect a Visio shape to a MySQL database (tried various versions, but we use 3.23.58). It works as advertised, right up until the point to where the Visio object has more than 17 custom properties to be exported to the db.

At that point, I get an error from Visio (see below). Let me repeat the fact that this works fine with any lower number of custom properties. Everything works fine until I hit the glass ceiling memory error.

The table itself is created properly (with more than 18 fields), but no data gets inserted.

In response to the memory error, I had a new higher end PC installed with 2 gigs of RAM, etc. and am certain it is not a physical memory error. I have tried this with various MySQL servers running on all sorts of hardware and still get the same error.

How to repeat:
1) Select an object in Visio with at least 18 custom property fields
2) Tools/AddOns/Visio Extras/Export to Database Wizard
3) Step thru the wizard, selecting at least 18 properties to export
4) When the wizard is done and you click finish, youll see the following error:

Database Wizard Error - Database Export Error - Failed to export data to external database.

Error Detail
Out of memory. Shut down one or more applications and try again. If this does not work, restart Windows and try again.

Suggested fix:
See Bug #7867...my problem is very similar, except my setup actually works until I hit the ceiling.

Hi.
You are missing MyODBC version you're using. Also, 3.23.x is rather old version. Please try with MyODBC 3.51.14 and MySQL server 5.0 and inform me of result. Could you please attach ODBC DM log and general query log from MySQL server?

Just out of curiosity, did you contact MS support and asked if this is Visio bug?
