Description:
At MySQLAdministrator, when I ask to stop the server at "Service Control" screen, I receive this error message:

open: Permission denied
/etc/lsb-base-logging.sh: line 22: /dev/console: Permissão negada

Then when I try the same operation running MySQLAdministrator as root, I receive this message:

* Stopping MySQL database server mysqld

[fail]

And right after this the server keeps on running.

How to repeat:
->Mysql-Admin->Service Control -> stop the server

Suggested fix:

Thank you for the bug report. With current version I got:

Authentication failure
*** Begin Logs:
*** End Logs

even using a valid root password.

Verified on:

miguel@skybr:~$ cat /etc/issue
Ubuntu 6.10 \n \l

Many thanks for writing a bug report. There is only limited support for MySQL Administrator on your platform. So we won't fix this bug. Functionality from MySQL Administrator will be implemented in our new GUI tool: MySQL Workbench and then also fully supported on all platforms.

More information about MySQL Workbench you will find here:
