Description:
Hello!

I was wondering if the embedded MySQL library (libmysqld.a) could be included with future binary packages of MySQL Community Server for IBM AIX.

Currently, it is "missing" from the package:

---8<---
root:/usr/local/mysql/lib# ls -1 | sort
libdbug.a
libmysqlclient.a
libmysqlclient_r.a
libmysql.imp
libmystrings.a
libmysys.a
libz.a
--->8---

This is needed e.g. for MySQL suppport for PHP PDO (http://www.php.net/pdo/, http://www.php.net/manual/en/ref.pdo-mysql.php).

Thanks in advance!

Best regards,
Björn

How to repeat:
Check /usr/local/mysql/lib/ of the binary package of MySQL Community Server for IBM AIX.

Suggested fix:
Please include libmsyqld.a with future binary packages.

libmysqld is not part of the distribution for any platform in 5.0.

See http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/libmysqld.html
