This bug report is a placeholder to keep track of the progress of including this patch from Joel Seligstein to display the uptime since the last FLUSH STATUS command, available from http://jcole.us/patches/mysql/5.0/connection_status.patch

It's not the "uptime since the last FLUSH STATUS command", it's SET CONNECTION STATUS. A connection gets "connection status" variable that it can set arbitrarily.

I don't quite see the point in doing it. And it's not ported to 5.1 even, so I suppose it's abandoned.
