Description:
When installing MySQL 4.0.17 on a Netware 6.0 SP3 server it fails when we get to the step 6 of the Netware installation instructions. "mysql_install_db"
It will not create the initial database (Resource not available).
What resource?

Since we have a version running on windows we copied the initial mysql database
from that version into the data folder of the netware sever.
Then we run "mysql_safe --skip-external-locking"
It fails with all these "LIBC@pthread" error messages.

The install instructions only have 8 steps and seem very simple.
This is why we are surprised we cannot get it to work despite hours
of trying many different things.

Our server meets all specs necessary to run MySQL including and NSS volume.

How to repeat:
Install mysql on netware 6.0 SP3 server.

Suggested fix:
If you follow the install instructions correctly, it should work.

The documentation is incorrect, and will be revised.

In addition to having Support Pack 3 installed, you must have Novell's latest LibC, as the newest
versions of MySQL on NetWare require it. You can find it at
