On the GUI installer, it says: (see screenshot)

Password for the root role. Default is "mysql"

See #23849. This not the "MySQL root role"; this is the "Administrator role". And it's not for MySQL, it's for Merlin.

Change from: MySQL Root Role Password
Change to: Administrator Password

Change from: Password for the root role. Default is "mysql"
Change to: Password for the Administrator role. Default is "mysql"
