Description:
I create a table.
1- If I add more then one column to an empty table and click apply it crashes
2- I can add one column to an empty table. Click apply and then close. Then open the table again and add another column. When I click apply it crashes.

How to repeat:
I can repeat the same for any table.

Thank you for the bug report.

miguel@hegel:~> mysql-workbench

aborting...

Hi,
I can repeat the same except for the crash.

When creating with more than one column or trying to add a second column, I get the following errors:
$ mysql-workbench
GTK Accessibility Module initialized

** (mysql-workbench:6112): CRITICAL **: myx_grt_dict_item_set_by_path: assertion `dict != NULL' failed

** (mysql-workbench:6112): CRITICAL **: myx_grt_dict_item_set_by_path: assertion `dict != NULL' failed

but it actually does not crash.

forgot to say , that 's with version 1.1.5alpha

Just wanted to add that the same bug exists on AMD64 version. MySQL Workbench is in version 1.1.5alpha.

Similar problem in 1.1.6alpha, but doesn't crash (at least not on MacOSX).

You just can't make a table with more than one column.

Version 1.1.8 still bears this problem. Cannot add more than one column, unless columns are connected to foreign keys.

I'm heavily surprised this hasn't been taken care of yet, since it actually makes the whole tool useless.

Using Mac OS X v10.4.0 and workbench 1.1. When I apply more than one column to a table, only the first column is actually saved to the table. Not only does this make this DB tool useless- but it also crashes whenever I use the eraser. It is the only time my mac has ever crashed!

I just downloaded and tried out workbench (1.19 alpha), 10th February 2007, and this "bug" is still here, you cannot have more than one column in a table, making the entire tool pointless.

It is very pretty though!

Verified that table with multiple columns silently drops all but first column when synchronizing to the database on Windows in 1.1.9 alpha

In version 1.1.9a this bug still exists ( 4 months and 5 releases later). Will anyone work on a test case for this? As noted earlier, the workbench has NO value if all tables only have 1 column.

Can we at least get a 'real' ETA on a fix? If it isn't ocming now, I need to move on to a new tool.

version 1.1.10alpha - still only one column demo ?
package - GUITools Suse10

* (mysql-workbench-bin:10853): CRITICAL **: myx_grt_dict_item_set_by_path: assertion `dict != NULL' failed

is it too difficult to solve this one bug in several months ?
hello, anybody is going to have a look at this sometime ?

It seems strange that this bug would continue to exist for 6 month. The application is basically useless without the ability to at more than one column to a table. Please fix this.
[16 Apr 2007 18:45] Ben Page
The application does not crash for me, but I still can't add more than one column in 1.1.10 Alpha.

Same fault for me as well. Only one column can be added to a table. "Apply Changes" does not affect my result.

Looks like a wonderful, clean interface, and an altogether great project. Until users can create tables with more than one field, however, I'm afraid this program is little more than a screen saver.

Best of luck, all!

Just an update, 09/13/2007, this bug still exists in currently available version 1.1.10 Alpha

I am using windows with MySQL Workbench, and I cannot add more than one column to a table. When I select apply, it doesn't. The table shows nothing but the first table I enter. The program looks like it has potential, but this bug makes it practically useless for now. I hope it gets fixed soon, because I would like to use this program in the future.

So the status is "Won't Fix". This tool is 100% useless if it will only support 1 column per table. So what's going on? It's got S1 (Critical) severity, which I feel is the correct status -- the tool is useless without fixing this, but it has been determined that it will not be fixed?

Can someone re-open this bug, because it's somewhat a big deal.

Hello,

The original code baseline for MySQL Workbench was abandoned, with efforts refocused on a brand-new baseline. This effort has resulted in a new release of MySQL Workbench (available from http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/workbench/5.0.html , currently for Windows only). The bug, as it exists in the abandoned code baseline, won't be fixed, but it should not cause problems in the new release, and we would ask that interested parties test against the new release.

There is some additional information about this product at http://dev.mysql.com/workbench/ that may be of interest to those commenting on this bug.

Thanks!
