Description:
the default server location = localhost. when attempt to change hostname from localhost to anything else, extremely slow response time. seems like application attempts to find the server with each key stroke. eventually server name will appear. only happens first logon; however, if have several sql servers on different servers, occurs each time

How to repeat:
change name of sql server from localhost to another name. 

Suggested fix:
??... Not sure exactly what issue is. could be one that I mentioned above regarding not trying a dns lookup after each key stroke.
