Description:
Receiving "This application has failed to start because LIBMYSQl.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem." message during final step of installation.

How to repeat:
I downloaded and am trying to install mysql-5.0.26-winx64.zip. It goes all the way to the configuration wizard, then when it gets to the last step with "execute", hitting the button gives the red X through step 1, and a warning box popping up that says "This application has failed to start because LIBMYSQl.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem. I tried reinstalling about 10 times and it never works. I tried running regsvr32 libmysql.dll but it says file not found so it could not be registered. I copied this dll file to windows, windows/system, windows/system32, windows/SysWOW64 and still no luck. Any help is appreciated, thanks!!

Thank you for a problem report. Please, send me URL you used to download that mysql-5.0.26-winx64.zip. I am not sure it is released officially. I can not find it at http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/mysql/5.0.html, for example.

oh sorry about that, I forgot to mention that I got the file from this link

http://mirror.sit.wisc.edu/mysql/Downloads/MySQL-5.0/mysql-5.0.26-winx64.zip

found in the list at (http://mirror.sit.wisc.edu/mysql/Downloads/MySQL-5.0/?S=A)

This is a mysql mirror I guess. this same file is located in about 10 different mirrors, but not listed on mysql's download site.

Sorry, but these binaries wehere not announced (as well as 5.0.27 ones) for a good reason. So, please, wait for next officially released community version of binaries for 64-bit Windows and check them (or build yourself from sources).
